Livestock hay is where the cost savings kick in. It's still a solid bale of medium to large stemmed, mostly green hay. It may or may not flake though. It can be fed to horses, but most customers treat it as a livestock feed. It's not a pretty bale. Medium-to-large stem, some leaf, mostly green but may include some some bleaching or browning, or ugly sawdusty flakes. What it lacks in curb appeal, it makes up for in value.
